Fabricio Durán
Nace en 1988, Costa Rica. Desde pequeño estuvo involucrado en la música por el incentivo de sus padres e interés propio. Sus estudios van desde violín en el Conservatorio de Alajuela, hasta música electroacústica, campo en el que ha incursionado recientemente. Además realizó estudios de batería en el Conservatorio de Alajuela, llegando a involucrarse en la escena del rock nacional con grupos como: Los Cuchillos, Alta Costura y Pidgines. Desde el 2006 conforma parte de la disquera independiente Gerónimo Records. Planea estudiar Artes Plásticas en la Universidad de Costa Rica.
Cueva Hadal
La idea esta obra nace de la fascinación por imágenes captadas por vehículos sumergibles en las remotas profundidades del mar y la ciencia ficción. La zona afótica marítima es hogar de organismos peculiares y un tanto misteriosos. La poca exploración humana hace de esta un lugar sombrío pero abierto para especulaciones e ingenuamente, la fantasía. Los sonidos que se escuchan durante toda la pieza fueron inicialmente emitidos por objetos comunes (campanas, lapiceros, entre otros) y luego modificados electrónicamente.

He was born in 1988 in Costa Rica. As a child he was involved in music due to his parents’ encouragement and his own interest. His studies range from Violin at the Alajuela Conservatory to Electroacoustic Music, an interest he has only recently begun to pursue. Also, he has studied drums at the Alajuela Conservatory, eventually becoming involved in the national rock scene with bands such as Los Cuhillos, Alta Costura and Pidgines. Since 2006 he is part of the independent record label called Geronimo Records. He plans to study Fine Arts at the University of Costa Rica.
Cueva Hadal
The idea of the piece comes from a fascination with images captured by submersible vehicles in the remote deep sea and science fiction. The aphotic maritime zone is home to peculiar and often a bit mysterious organisms. The relative lack of human exploration here makes this a somber place, but open to speculation and –perhaps naively- fantasy as well. The sounds heard in the piece were initially produced by common objects (bells, pens and others) and then modified electronically.
